Honoring the Life and Legacy of Bentley

Bentley, the beloved therapy dog, loyal companion, and gentle soul, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, following an unexpected cancer diagnosis. Bentley served the families of Williams County for four years as a grief therapy dog at Kill Funeral Homes. His calm, reassuring demeanor comforted thousands of people who were grieving. When he was not working, he enjoyed laying on “his” porch surveying his kingdom and making sure no unauthorized squirrels came in his yard. He loved the snow, playing with his friends, deep ear scratches and belly rubs.

Born on January 20, 2020, Bentley joined the Krill Funeral Home family alongside his brother, Oakley. In 2022, the brothers achieved their certification as professional therapy dogs. This milestone fulfilled a long-held vision to provide dedicated, intuitive grief support to grieving families in their hardest moments. He did his job well. He was requested by countless families to help make being at the funeral home a little easier.

Wise, calm, and quiet, Bentley possessed an old soul that made people feel instantly safe. He loved deeply, comforted naturally, and somehow always knew when someone needed him most.

Bentley is deeply missed by his family, his brother, Oakley, and the countless community members whose lives he touched and healed. His legacy of unconditional love, comfort, and joy will never be forgotten.
